Grant Guidelines

The FairWays Foundation supports conservation-based projects where the belief and commitment demonstrated offer a meaningful contribution to long term change.  The very heart of the foundation lies in the golf and professional turf & ornamental industry and we are committed to further supporting both industry partners and their local communities. We believe that the push for change must continue to come from the grass roots level, these are the voices which speak loudest to The FairWays Foundation.

The cornerstone of successful applicants will highlight undertakings in the following key focus areas –

Water Conservation & Stewardship – Projects that focus on golf course or other properties managed for turf & ornamentals that improve or change maintenance practices to reduce water use or increase water quality
Habitat Conservation & Stewardship – Projects that focus on golf course or other properties managed for turf & ornamental that change maintenance practices to benefit native ecosystems
Water Education – Projects that focus on informing the community about the problems, efforts, and future of the golf and professional turf & ornamental industry’s water use and availability<br>

As a private organization our Grant Committee determines where the funding will have the most significant impact.  The Grant Committee is made up of Aquatrols employees and industry experts.  The below helps to identify the criteria they will look for –

We Fund Work That:

  • Offers commitment to reduce the golf course or professional turf & ornamental properties’ ecological footprint
  • Increases the boundaries of standard husbandry in the golf and professional turf & ornamental industry
  • Includes benefits to the local community
  • Protects existing natural resources

All successful applicants must:

  • Show a clear strategy
  • Identify goals / objectives which can be measured to evaluate success

We Do Not Fund:

  • Applications outside our three key focus areas including, but not limited to: clean drinking water, harvesting rainwater for irrigation, alternative energy sources, agriculture and agroforestry
  • Expansions of general operating expenses / capital improvements
  • Event sponsorships including promotional items
  • Political campaigns
  • Research
  • Individuals
  • Capital expenses

2025 GRANT SUBMISSIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED

Grant Deadlines:

The 2025 grant window is now open, until April 30 2025.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR PROJECT MUST BE BEING UNDERTAKEN BY, ON, OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH A GOLF COURSE OR PROFESSIONAL TURF & ORNAMENTAL PROPERTY IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED
