Welcome to
The FairWays Foundation

The FairWays Foundation recognizes water as Earth’s most vital resource—essential for life, biological processes, food production, and industry. Despite covering most of the planet, only a small percentage is accessible freshwater. The FairWays Foundation has revised our three original pillars to reflect our core belief in water’s importance, with two of the pillars now requiring direct ties to water.

What is The FairWays Foundation?

The FairWays Foundation is a stand-alone
not-for-profit organization dedicated to
safeguarding our environment. The FairWays
Foundation supports conservation-based
projects; big and small, as well as educational
events for professionals, newcomers to the field
and for future minds.

Project Pillars

As the world’s population continues to grow, so will demand for clean freshwater. The turf and ornamental (T&O) industry has the opportunity and responsibility to take a leadership role through projects that reduce water use or improve water quality.  Projects with this focus will be supported by our first pillar, Water Conservation and Stewardship.

Educating the public about water’s role in the T&O industry, including the potential for water-efficient technologies and responsible irrigation is vital. These initiatives can emphasize the industry’s commitment to sustainability while also highlighting its significant contributions to community green spaces, environmental health, aesthetics, and overall quality of life.  Projects that serve to educate about the relationship between water, industry, and the public will be supported by the second pillar, Water Education.

The Foundation remains committed to projects focusing on improving habitats. Native ecosystems, including pollinators, amphibians, and beneficial plants, are declining. Projects that replace turf and non-native plants with native flora or promote sustainable maintenance practices will be supported by our third pillar, Habitat Conservation and Stewardship.
